Arizona wildfire burns hundreds of acres

PHOENIX, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- A U.S. Bureau of Land Management official said Monday lightning might have been the cause of the Robins Butte wildfire that began last week in Arizona.

Some 70 firefighters are battling the brush fire that started on private property near Buckeye but has since moved onto state-owned land, KNVX-TV in Phoenix reports.

So far the fire has destroyed between 350 and 400 acres.

A single helicopter and some heavy firefighting equipment were battling the blaze on Sunday at which time it was reported to be uncontained.

Firefighters say salt cedar shrubs in the area are making it difficult to fight.
